About the Brand
What is MUUS
MUUS (муус) means “ice” in the Yakut language. Our name reflects the essence of the Yakut knife — a tool born in one of the harshest regions on earth.
We work directly with master craftsmen from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) to bring you genuine handmade Yakut knives. Every piece is not merely a tool but a work of art with a unique story.
“Ice-born. Fire-forged.”

The Yakut Knife
The Yakut knife is one of the most ancient tools to survive virtually unchanged to this day. Archaeological finds confirm that its form has remained the same for thousands of years.
Its defining feature is the asymmetric grind — a distinctive fuller on one side and a convex edge on the other. This shape was refined over centuries for work in conditions of extreme cold. For the Yakut people, the knife is a symbol of craftsmanship, self-sufficiency, and a connection with nature.
Craftsmen
Our Masters
We partner with over 70 master blacksmiths from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Every one of them is a living bearer of centuries-old Yakut forging tradition.
Our masters use traditional hand-forging methods passed down from generation to generation. Every blade is hand-forged; every handle is carved from natural materials — birch burl, Karelian birch, moose antler, or reindeer horn.
Quality Guarantee
